Monira Chowdhury
Monira Chowdhury is a Bangladeshi poetess, writer, educator, and development professional whose work reflects creativity, resilience, and a deep engagement with literature and social contribution. With academic training in Bangla literature and practical experience in education and organizational development, she has steadily built a professional identity rooted in both artistic expression and community service.
She pursued her Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Bangla from Titumir College under the National University, achieving a CGPA of 3.48 (out of 4.00). Prior to that, she completed her Higher Secondary Certificate from Mollartek Udayon School & College and her Secondary School Certificate from Haji Billat Ali Model High School under the Dhaka Board. Her academic background in Bangla literature has significantly influenced her literary voice and poetic expression.
Professionally, Monira Chowdhury served as a Program Officer at DWDO, Uttara, Dhaka, where she contributed to organizational activities and program coordination for one year. She also worked as a Teacher at Dhaka Pre-Cadet School in Uttara for two years, dedicating herself to student development and classroom instruction. Alongside her institutional roles, she has actively worked as a poet, writer, and proofreader with various publications in Banglabazar, Dhaka, contributing to literary projects and editorial refinement.
As a published author, she wrote the poetry book Somoy Sritimoy in 2012, a work that reflects emotional depth, memory, and social consciousness. Her literary engagement highlights her passion for language, culture, and creative storytelling.
